New Pathways is a service which offers counselling and support to men, women, children and young people who are affected by the trauma caused by Rape and Sexual Abuse. We offer these services to children and young people who have been affected by any type of trauma such as bullying or the loss of a parent, providing a tailor made therapeutic programme to meet their individual needs.
New Pathways is based in Merthyr Tydfil but we have outreach posts in Cardiff, Newport Swansea Central and Clydach Hospital as well as projects running in both HMP Cardiff and Usk. We accept referrals from both voluntary and statutory agencies from all over Wales. Alternatively, people can contact the office direct and make a Self Referral.
New Pathways are the first organisation within Wales to have developed a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). This facility is a safe and comfortable place to which a victim of rape or sexual assault can come to receive support from the agency, police and medical professionals. The centre has been developed with feedback and suggestions from our clients who have acted as consultants in making sure the centre is equipped to deal with the varying needs of those who will use it.

Watford Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre
C/O CVS, 149 The Parade, Watford, WD1 1NA
The Watford Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre is a service for women - run by women.
Helpline: 01923 674674
Mondays and Saturdays: 10am - 12 noon
Wednesdays: 8pm - 10.30pm
The group provides support, information, practical advice, a telephone helpline, crisis counselling and face to face counselling on a short/long term basis, for women and girls who have been raped and/or sexually abused whenever it happened and however it happened.
We aim to offer the support necessary for women to regain control of their own lives.
We will accompany women to courts, police stations, clinics, doctors etc., whenever required, and we can arrange links to other relevant organisations as necessary. We do not work with male survivors, but do treat male callers sympathetically, giving numbers of other relevant organisations. We give talks and promote educational work with other groups and organisations wherever/whenever possible.
Our service is FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL
In our counselling work we recognise that every women is an individual, and women who have been abused have a right to be heard and believed in a non judgmental way.
To talk about abuse is very painful - not to be able to talk is even more painful.
If you are unable to talk to us during the times stated above, please leave a message on our answerphone and we shall get back to you as soon as possible.
